Creating authentic meaning

New York City Jewelry Week celebrates the innovations and creative minds in the jewelry industry, from renowned powerhouses to up-and-coming designers. While attending the event in November 2023, I learned more about the issue of ethics in the industry; sourcing the stones that make up a piece of jewelry can be expensive and sometimes hazardous. I wrote “Creating Authentic Meaning: Responsible Crystals in Jewelry” for THE SOURCE on the ethical procurement of rare stones, and how that process links to the emotional significance behind a piece of jewelry.
