Is it just me?

It’s a question that can pervade so much of a lifetime and undermine so much confidence. There are few places where that question will get a definite answer, and one of them is a poetry reading. Since I was 17 years old, I’ve been honored to surprise, delight, depress, or reassure (as needed) the people who’ve come to my performances. Through telling the stories of what I’ve lived or witnessed, I get to say: “no, it’s not just you. And it’s okay.” Poetry has opened many unexpected and wonderful doors for me over the years. I’m proud to have been featured at some truly exciting and artistic happenings—from intimate weekly mics to curated cultural events in London, Berlin, Amsterdam, Edinburgh, Oslo, New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles. Micropubs, tiny towns, theatres, backyards, Zoom calls, warehouses, and beyond.
